Tiny Pink Bells
These tiny pink bells are such lovely little flowers that I wanted to share a whole patch of them for you today. Perhaps at one point I knew their name, but certainly it’s escaped now and flown off with the summer heat. (Update: I hear from a reader that this is actually called Spreading Dogbane). We can bring back at least a memory of this warmth by looking at the flowers with their deep pink stems and interiors, along with their delicate form. They look so jaunty, without a care in the world, oblivious to their seasonal fate. There’s a lot to be said for taking each day at a time, not dreading what might happen tomorrow. I must try to remember that more often. The bells are also signalling a big day ahead for me in 10 days. See if you can guess what it is, my friends. I have been thinking about what flower to share to celebrate that day. Until tomorrow! Flower a Day #490 View all posts on the Home page.

January 2022 Gallery :
A gallery of flowers shared on a daily basis to cheer myself and hopefully you, the viewer too, during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic period. Posts from January 2022.
Could they be young Twin flowers, Ellie, which will elongate a bit as they mature? Whatever they may be, they are the perfect choice for a PFD. Thank you, Ellie, for this floral hug. Always appreciated.
Thanks for trying to guess, Janet. I have heard today from a reader that they are, in fact, spreading Dogbane. It apparently has a wonderful perfume and even had medicinal uses though the sap is toxic. As she said, it’s so interesting. I know you are a great fan of the PFDs, so there will be more coming up! Thanks again, Janet.
It is lovely Ellie. And I do agree we need to just take one day at a time. Look forward to tomorrow’s flower though. Such a delicate looking little flower. Sometimes you are amazed at how they manage to stand tall With the different things they deal with each day. Thanks again for sharing hope you were having a good day. Hugs to you and Steve.
It’s always good to have something to look forward to, Linda, I agree. As long as we live each day to the full as best we can, there is room in our hearts for a tomorrow that brings a future of hope. Thank you again, my friend. And thank you for the hugs, too.
