Today’s flower is a surprise. It’s a thistle, but that’s also a flower in my book! I hope that you will all have a day with bright spots of sweetness in it, like this thistle whose beautiful soft downy flowers are protected by sharp spiny leaves. They are beloved of bees who see only the sweetness, ignoring the sharp thorns. I send a big warm sweet hug to all my friends with today’s flower.

Superb, Ellie. A beautiful portrait of one of my favourite plants. My day is off to a great start. Thank you.
I’m so glad you like it Janet. In my head I connected you with this plant from your Scottish heritage and now I know you do too! I’m glad you think I have done it justice.
