Tansy

Tansy, Golden Buttons
Tansy, Golden Buttons

Today is a day for golden gifts! This is Tansy,, also known as Golden Buttons and by a few other less complimentary names, such as bitter buttons or cow bitter! A member of the Aster family, it grows wild here, looking quite nondescript until you take a closer look and see the beautifully designed fibonacci spirals in the tiny golden buttons at the top of the stiff green stalks. I hope that your day has some unexpected golden moments that you can treasure.

    1. I was so excited to see it, as the angle of some of them doesn’t really show it. Thank you for looking full screen, and sharing my excitement. I’m glad you loved it!

  1. Good morning. Thanks for another bright spot in my day. Love all the little details your photos bring out in the flowers. Causing me to stop and take a closer look at them

    1. Thanks Linda. Yes, I didn’t even see the spiral myself until it was on my monitor! Now I will look to see if I can make it out on the little flowers when I see them.

  2. I’ve already had an unexpected golden moment, when I opened your post for today. So bright, so bold, so perky, so yellow, so late in the season! Another sunny find, Ellie. Wonderful and thank you.
