We usually know this bush for the snowy white berries (makes sense, with the name…) but today I am highlighting the flower. As in so many of my A Flower a Day photographs, several stages of this flower, from bud to fruit are shown here, putting the lifecycle in context, albeit out of focus in some. This is such a sweet little flower, presented today to cheer your day my friends.

Sweet – there’s no other word for this beautiful and delicate little flower and its buds. It’s also another plant from my childhood, but I never took the time to appreciate its beauty, rather I remember popping the berries in childish glee. The other thing I love about this shot is how it shows the subtle tones of pink, green and white, a combination that I’ve always loved in nature, and how these darling blooms emerge tentatively from their curious buds to confront the world – a perfect photo for a sunny day. Thank you very much ellie. It is such a cute delicate little light pink flower. I think I can see the dark stamen in the middle. Then the little berries that are forming to me look like tiny pomegranates thanks a million.
