Finally my site seems to be up and working again! Apologies for the late posting today.
My hairdresser is another who is gifted in flower growing. She pointed these out to me as I was leaving her house, saying that she didn’t know what they were but she loves them. They are so simple and beautiful alone, but of course there is a whole patch of this gorgeous colour in her garden, making each individual bloom seem even stronger and richer! We are often fine alone, but a gathering of a group of friends can also be a beautiful thing, making us feel warm and connected. I hope you can be together with your friends and feel this close bond soon. Flower a Day #319  (NB while I make every effort to identify the flowers posted, I make no guarantee that the name is correct. It’s about the photograph, not the name.:-)

  1. Not a true rose but every bit as sweet. As I grow older (not old, of course) I appreciate ever increasingly, the simple things in life…and that includes the unfussy and elegant flowers. This plant, aka Dusty Miller, is one of those who do not hide their essence . Rather they wear it proudly and do not wrap it in multiple folds and assorted colours. They are perfect just the way they are…and they know it. Thank you, Ellie, for the reminder to appreciate our own essence.

    1. Not old – never old! And the simple things in life are enjoyed as much by the young as those of us who are a little farther ahead, a little more aware of our own essence and preferences by now. Perfect they are, as you say. Thanks for the comment, Janet.

  2. Hi Ellie it is a beautiful flower. Used to have some in my garden but they died out. Amazing deep colour I really love it especially when you see it against the silver stalks of the flower
