Pink Morning Glory

Believe it or not, this morning glory is growing at the moment, not 200 metres from us, twined around a low stump. Of course I saw it on a walk and kept thinking that I should bring my camera back to take the photograph of it. I haven’t been bringing my camera on every walk any longer, which is obviously a mistake. I went back the next evening and found I had almost missed it and the morning glories were in evening mode, closing up. I took the photo anyway and was determined to go back the next morning to get some in full bloom. The next day it was pouring with rain. A friend came round for coffee and I was telling her about this and she glanced out the window and said “why don’t we go and get it now?” So we did, even in the rain. The things I do to get my flowers for you! This late morning glory, complete with raindrops is my gift to you today. You will find a link to all the past galleries by month in the main post (below). 1. Some of us are morning people…and some, not so much. Although not averse to sleeping in the odd morning, I think I mostly fall into the former camp. With the mornings taking longer to brighten, I can relate to this sweet bloom trying desperately to keep the ‘glory’ in morning. I applaud it and thank you, Ellie, for a darling PFD.

    1. I am so glad that you like this little pink flower. A morning person or not, we have to admire one that keeps bright and cheerful through a pouring rain. Thanks again, Janet.

  2. Good morning Ellie. That is a great shot. Love the raindrops on the flower really adds to the picture. I am amazed at how much light there looks like there’s coming through it. I know it was a very dull cloudy day. Thanks again for sharing. Hugs to you and Steve.

    1. Thank you Linda. I’m glad it turned out, though we got a bit wet, didn’t we? joni didn’t mind, I remember. Those flowers do glow, it seems. And it’s the way I take the photos, too! 😉 Hugs back to you.
