Now to the clover that everyone knows so well. This is the one we pulled apart as children (maybe still do, at those moments in our lives when we need a little free sweetness) and the one we all think of when we hear the word ‘clover’. And now we have a new Clover, as this is the name our new little cat arrived with. She is being gradually introduced to a new name, which is Aja (pronounced Asia). We thought of the name when we were listening to the Steely Dan song of the same name and both said at the same time “that’s a good name for her”. So for now she is Clover AKA Aja, starting her new adventure as a lady of leisure in her pamper palace chez Kennard. We have lots of toys for her with catnip in them as we are told she loves catnip. Now that you know her original name, if you have been paying attention so far, you will see where the post hints of the past couple of days have been taking you. Enjoy your day, friends and may you find plenty of free sweetness in it! A Flower a Day #294 (NB while I make every effort to identify the flowers posted, I make no guarantee that the name is correct. It’s about the photograph, not the name.:-) )

Clover comes in many colours (like you new kitty cat, Aja) – pink, white ,purple, red, even yellow. Honey made flavoured with clover is one of my favorites. They cover the meadows and our lawns and we don’t really look at the perky little globes that make up the flowers. We maybe take them a bit for granted but the bees love them and for that, if no other, reason, I do too. I will love your Clover also, Ellie, no matter what name you give her.
Thanks Janet. And it’s true that clover honey, made from fields of clover has a wonderful taste! As she feels her feet I am beginning to think “Fidget” would be a better choice! 😀 But she responds already to Aja so…
Love hearing about your new cat in the family!
Kathy she is more than we could have hoped.:-)
Clover is such a beautiful, happy little flower! I’m sure Clover Aja will live up to her original name, and I love the name Aja!! Can’t wait to meet her, and looking forward to some pics of this sweet little feline!
You are right, Lynne, the flower is happy, the cat is also happy and the sweetest little thing, far more than we could have hoped. She is also happy with her new name, it seems as she comes to it as much as to anything. She wants free run of the house, but slowly does it! You will see more pictures of her than you want in due course, I suspect…
Thanks Ellie. Lovely photo of the clover. Nice the way you captured the light around particular flowers. Also glad that Aja Alias Clover has arrived safe and sound and is enjoying her new home. Can’t wait to meet her. Have a great day
Thanks, Linda. Yes, we are all settling in. She has now met Joni, if briefly, and there seemed no stress on either, though Joni was a bit careful and didn’t move. Probably sensible. Animals have a lot they can teach us.
