Leading to Departures

Halifax Airport at Night - Ellie Kennard 2012
Halifax Airport at Night – Ellie Kennard 2012

This geometrically pleasing walkway into Halifax airport has not seen as much traffic in later years as now almost all visitors, those leaving as well as those arriving approach the airport from the adjacent parking building. This was the way we went to welcome our friends and family who came to visit before the renovations changed the arrangement. I loved the triangles and leading lines in this composition.

This was another post and photo rescue operation.

Original Post: Halifax Airport at Night – October 22, 2012

This was my very first time taking part in the +Chrysta Rae’s Photography Scavenger Hunt and I had a great time. I have submitted 10 images, one for each of the themes and as the first theme – “Triangle” was announced yesterday and all the judging is finished, I am able to post my submission. This photograph was taken at Halifax airport, at night.

I will be posting the others daily as the themes are revealed!

Halifax airport has undergone extensive renovations and now looks much bigger and very slick and shiny. However all the shops and restaurants still close down at 9 pm (though several flights arrive and leave after those hours) and so it really still is, despite appearances, a small town airport. I did have to wait to get this empty, but in most city airports it would never have happened.
