Gold Marigold

Golden sunshine is always appreciated I think, unless you are reading this in the desert, in which case move along to a more sombre post on here if you find one! I know that the very name marigold implies gold, but I have shared some which were much less rich in colour. This was such a deep gold, framed by those blue-green frondy leaves behind it, so the title seemed fitting for something so lovely, shining on us today. I hope today’s glowing image is just the start of such richesse through your day. Until tomorrow, friends. View all posts on the Home page.  A Flower a Day #449

  1. This is a more liberal marigold. How do I know that? By its dress, of course. The ordinary run of the mill marigold is always prim and much more bundled up, buttoned tight to the neck with all the frills neatly ironed. This one is more a free spirit, choosing to dress in light and airy flounces to fit its unhampered, and sunny, view of the world. With its skirts free to blow in the wind and catch a maximum of the sun’s rays, its free-spirited heart captures my own. I can relate. Thank you, Ellie, for a spirit-lifting image.

    1. What an excellent character study of this beauty, Janet! A true free spirit. I’m really glad this one works for you. Thanks again, Janet.

  2. Good morning Ellie. Thanks so much for the great pick me up this morning. It is a beautiful golden bright colour. So look forward to the spring when they’re all back. We are having a little sunshine today so that’s nice. Hope you have a great day and hugs to you and Steve.

    1. We all look forward to that so much, Linda! But the winter has its beauty and this morning shows some of it off for sure! Have a great day, hugs to you and Blair.
