Happy World Wild Aster Day! False sunflower sounds as if it’s an imposter, which is a bit insulting to the bright display they put on. I think these are quite beautiful in their own right, perfect for a WWAD. I photographed the seeds of these last autumn, (that post is here: Sun Seeds) not knowing what the flowers had looked like, so it was really interesting to see them in flower now. I think that I sowed some of these in my wildflower project but perhaps they were late. Or maybe they will flower next year. I hope you enjoy this sunny flower in your day. A Flower a Day #322 (NB while I make every effort to identify the flowers posted, I make no guarantee that the name is correct. It’s about the photograph, not the name.:-) )

It is a beautiful bright sunny flower. So I would say it could definitely be called a sunflower. Thanks for brightening our day again. Hope you and Steve have a great day.
Glad to do so, Linda, especially when the actual sun seems a little reluctant these days… Any time!
