Daffodils

Daffodils

Of course it had to happen. How could I not post a photograph of daffodils when they are springing up everywhere around me? I am still buried in figures and calculations and mostly stuck in the studio (why did I leave this to the last minute? Don’t answer that…). But this didn’t stop me from going out in the blustery rainy afternoon we had yesterday to kneel on the pavement in front of a neighbour’s house to capture his beautiful flowers as they nodded and ducked and waved around in the wind gusts. It’s Steven’s fault that my accounts are not farther ahead than they are, as he insisted that we go to see the display he had spotted earlier. So you have him to thank. He knew that I specially wanted a yellow one for you today and of course it had to be daffodils. Enjoy your day and I hope it’s as bright and cheery as these. A Flower a Day #223

  1. Nothing says Spring quite like a Daffodil. Perhaps its because daffodils ‘trumpet’ their presence the moment they appear. Additionally, they don’t dress in a subdued manner. Oh no, they put on the brightest raiment ever so as not to be confused with a ‘shrinking violet’ I guess. No confusion there. Even though the sun is out here today, I will be banking this image in my memory for the day when I need a blast of brightness. Thank you, Ellie, for this sunny shot.

    1. And maybe I have you to thank for the sunny day we have today? In any case, I am also hanging onto that brilliant yellow image, as you never know when we will need it next! Thanks a lot Janet.

  2. Thank you very much for all your hard work and efforts to capture that photo. There’s nothing so bright and cheery as a bouquet of daffodils they really can lift your spirits thanks again and I hope you get your tax work done today.
