Chrythants

Yellow Mums
Yellow Chrysanthemums

These yellow chrysanthemums are such bright cheery flowers for today’s Flower a Day posting! These were always a great favourite of Steven’s grandfather, Chris, who grew them to a really big size in the garden, not in pots as these were. Apparently he achieved this by pinching out the side blooms and just getting the one big flower. He called them ‘Chrythants’. I love them either way. I hope they will bring some sunshine into your day, whatever the weather where you are!

  1. Wow…another WWAD! Can’t have enough of them. With this colour, as they unfold, it is like the sun rising. The yellow gets brighter and brighter until your day is full of good cheer and smiling faces. Thank you, Ellie.

    1. I’m so happy these cheerful faces brightened your day, Janet. But you are right, I did sneak in another WWAD, only observed by you, as far as I know. You can never have too many of those, I know you agree. But I’ll see if tomorrow I can’t give the poor Aster family a break! Thanks again Janet.

  2. Thanks Ellie they are like bright sunshine on the cloudy day. Love the colour and I also love what almost looks like the blue in the background as a contrast. Beautiful photo as usual thanks for sharing
