Buds

We’re on photograph #100 of this A Flower a Day project (thanks for sticking with me this far!). And I actually have no idea what these buds are. I just liked them and wanted them included for you all. Sometimes it doesn’t matter what something is if you like it. And this is one of these times. 100 posts, 100 days, 100 times I have wished you all well as I do today and send a hug out to you all!

The Flower a Day Gallery with current content is below. Each day a new photo will be added. With today’s post and additional throwback post image there are now 100 to view. Click or tap to view full size.

  1. Such mystery a bud holds when the plant is unknown to us. There are hints at the colour and the shape of the leaves but the rest is left to speculation. Will it be a simple flower or complex? Will the colour be uniform or a blend with hues and shadings? Be patient, and with time, all will be revealed… unless it is late in the season and Mr. Frost has visited and given it a nip, in which case its potential will be lost to us. Hence the saying. Thanks again, Ellie, for a day of intrigue.

    1. That is so true, Janet! So much promise in these tiny buds! Next year it will have to be, before we find out what these become as the frost has driven them back into winter. But I think I know where I photographed them so will go looking! Have a lovely day my dear friend.

  2. Lovely photo Ellie. The contrast of the green leaves with the yellow reddish colour buds, very pretty. Did you get a picture of it after it’s open?
