The last of the lovely double primroses that I photographed while it was still safe to visit garden centres – even outdoors – is this lovely Belarina Amethyst Ice. It is hard in these times to maintain a positive outlook, but this project has helped me to appreciate the positive things in our lives. And we do have positives. We have friends and families we can somehow, safely stay in touch with as well as a hope that things will get better in the future. We also have the beauty in the world around us. I am glad that I took some photographs of these lovely flowers when I could. Now I look at them and they remind me that life goes on and these lovely plants will continue to bloom and fill our hearts with joy, whatever our present circumstances. I hope that this photograph and the hug to you all that comes with it might give you a bit of a lift and maybe a smile today. A Flower a Day #226

Thank you for sharing your positive attitude. I always enjoy seeing your photos.
Thank you so much for sending that note, Kathy. It means a lot to me to know that it cheers others to see my photos. Love to you both.
Amethyst Ice would seem a good name for these posies, as their purple petals appear fringed with frost. They are lovely but what draws me in even more with the primroses is the way the leaves surround their precious jewel so protectively. It makes them appear so cared for to me. Each flower has its own individual embrace. I find that very touching. Perhaps its the times, but I will take the sensitivity wherever I find it. Thank you, Ellie.
It is the times, I think too, and I totally agree that such a feeling of comforting protection is very a warm and happy one. We all feel vulnerable now, at least I know we do here, so the thought of being wrapped up in a cocoon like embrace has a lovely appeal. Thank you Janet. This too shall pass. Hang on to that thought.
Thank you very much Ellie. It is a lovely bouquet that will brighten anybody’s day. We need extra brightening today with the rain. Sending hugs back to you and Steve hope you have a good day.
You are most welcome, Linda – I’m glad if it helps a bit to brighten things up. We all need it and, as you say the rain doesn’t help. Hope your day is also a good one.
