Aster Family

Aster family

I know you’ve all been waiting for another World Wild Aster Day and the day is finally here! So many flowers seem to fit into the Aster family that it has been easy to find ones to share for my Flower a Day project. Many aren’t as obvious in appearance as this cheerful little grouping, so I usually share them under their various other names. I always think of the Astor family as being rich… and this flower family has a richesse that easily rivals those poor relatives, (just one letter away) with only money. These flowers today are sent to bring some cheer into your day, with (another) hug from me.

The Flower a Day Gallery with current content is below. Each day a new photo will be added. With today’s post and additional throwback post image there are now 104 to view. Click or tap to view full size.

If you wish to you can subscribe here if you have not already, to be sure to get my daily flowers in your inbox!

  1. Another World Wild Aster Day! Hooray! Can’t go wrong with an aster, of which there are legions. And this pretty alliance of asters is sure to evoke a warm feeling with their bright eyes and cheerful demeanor. Like a giddy gaggle of girls on their way to school, elated to be alive and enjoying their bit of sun, they catch you up on their wave of euphoria and carry you along. Thank you, Ellie.

    1. You know there can never be too many WWADs! I have to stop myself declaring one a week (I probably have the photographs to do that, too). They really do bring back that warm summer feeling. Thanks dear Janet.

  2. Asters remind me of my childhood, I used to pick them up whenever I could find them that is, on my way home from school ( primary ) and offered them in a tiny bouquet to my mother…
Lovely flower Ellie, thanks. Hugs back to you 🙂

    1. What a lovely memory, Eleftheria, thank you for sharing that with me. On our walks we see a family of little girls who we love to chat with outside their house. The youngest, aged 3, always picked tiny aster bouquets to give to both Steven and me. Just as you did as a little girl! We are so touched each time, by the flowers and her sweet smile. Thank you for that lovely comment!
